Mox - Octopus concept

    Mox here is a concept Robot design inspired from the famous villan in spider man, DOC- OCK. Four Eye like devices to view all 360 degrees. Four arms to preform all actions.

Design

    Design Totaly designed in 3Ds Max. And regarding the tools, spherify tool and Line rendering is mainly used to design the arms. Spherify was used to generate the spherical body.

    Textured as a plastic body with chrome arms. Glowing eyes were achived with help lights placed before each eye so that they would self illuminate the glowing effect.

Texturing the Walker....

 
    This post is about texturing my old robot. Texturing this old fellow was a piece of cake, beacuse hes a machinery type model. Advantage of texturing machines is we could simply add some material. Materials should be applied with some logic.

    Mental Ray materials are used in this model. The chrome steel texture is created through mentalray Arch & Design .

    The golden chest armor was created using the Materials from the material library. to increase the glossy nature of the armor is generated using custom mas created using photoshop.

    The face textures are like the copper metal texure, with brushed patterns.

Burn E

   
         Hi guys another of my work is Burn E,  now this robot here, not many would hav noticed. He appears in the wonderful romantic movie, Wall E.

         Burn E is a levitating robot, means he flies. Burn E was designed to be a maintenance robot, so his functions are obvious.

Design:

         Modeling Burn E was very interesting, coz of the futuristic design. The edge bending to get the shape of a smooth edge was the skill draining part.

         Burn E could fly so no need to worry about his legs. 1/3 of  Burn E's body is his head so the proportion is very important so the head is designed with high importance and care.

         Regarding Burn E's fire gun, a very easy model done with the special line render option that is availabile only in 3Ds MAX.

Glowing tube effect

     
       Most of us wanted to create various effects in photoshop. Except for for we do not know where or how to start. Now here i will teach how to create a neon effect in just -- simple steps.

Step 1:

Create a new doc by clicking OK.

Step 2:

Click on the small icon at the bottom, the new layer Layer 1 appears.

Step 3:

Click on the little fx icon at the bottom, then a layer style icon will appear. Then select inner glow to select the desired colour.

Step 4:

Set the values as in the screen shot for inner glow...choice of color is yours, be creative.

Step 5:

 Set the values as in the screen shot for Drop Shadow... choice of color is yours, be creative.

Step 6:

  Set the values as in the screen shot for Outer Glow...  choice of color is yours, be creative.

Step 7:

 Set the values as in the screen shot for Satin choice of color is yours, be creative. Then click OK.

Step 8:

Invert the layer 0 or background layer by pressing ctrl + I. Now choose a hard brush and select the layer with fx. What ever you draw in this layer will have the glowing effect.

Bingo...!!! there we have a glow effect.
With a little more creativity and liquify effect, we could make much more...

Robot Spy

         RobotSpy is another of my new designs, ROBOTSPY...!!! sorry guys, thats the best i could come up with for now... help me with some name for this robotic lady.

What is she...?

        She is an anthropomorphic robot (a humanoid robot), Perfectly designed in the shape of a human lady. Designed for toughest and highly confidential infiltration missions.

What is she made of...?

        Anything that could be possibly necessary for a spy, cloaking device, super jumping shoes, night vision, infra red vision, heat detector, ultrasonic detector, Satellite comm link with base, plasma gun, and everything a spy would ever need.

Design:

       Designed with 3DS Max, with little photoshop works and some references from the internet. Method used to design for the model is the box extrusion method.

       Designed by attaching multiple objects, and bridging technique.

Thats it guys... Please help me come up with some name for this robot lady... Remember she is a super spy so let the name be good enough...

        

Walker

       Walker is a Future Robot design...Now y did i call that a future design... simple, this design is not into production yet.

        A Fifteen foot Robotic Monster, with a triple mould shooter firing 2000 laser rounds per minute. Titanium alloyed Chest armor, with admantium hand. A True Metal Beast.

Design:

         Basic things that inspired me for this design were simple things that we see in movies and cartoons. since a lot of things inspired me for this design, i couldnt be very specific about the origin of this monster.

         Softwares used for this design is a little hand drawing, a little work on photoshop and a lots of work on 3DS Max.

         And about the tools mostly used are Extrude and bevel. Lot more tools, sorry for untextured video guys, this is due to lack of hardware.
